1 Corinthians 4:1-5

1. Live so others view us correctly

Verse 1

Philippians 2:5-8-“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ

Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with

God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.

8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the

death of the cross.”

2. Live to fulfill God’s desire

Verse 2

Matthew 24:45-46-“ Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master

has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time?

46 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.”

Psalms 78:5-8-“For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in

Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to

their children; 6 that the generation to come might know them, the

children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children,

7 that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His

commandments; 8 and may not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious

generation, a generation that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not

faithful to God.”

3. Live to prepare for the final say

Verses 3-5

Hebrews 13:17-“Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch

out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and

not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.”

2 Timothy 2:15-“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who

does not need to be ashamed.”
