Our Message
A note from Pastor Dave
Welcome to Red Mountain Baptist Church. We are so thankful that you are interested in our church family. We are honored that you would take the time to check us out on the web. I hope you will find the information here to be beneficial to your life.
At Red Mountain we are all on a journey together, as we live in Jesus Christ. It is our goal to help you on your journey, wherever you are. We believe that Jesus provides the answer we need for living every day. When we gather together, we seek to provide an atmosphere for an intimate encounter with God through our Sunday School classes and worship services.
I want to invite you to worship with us if you are ever in the Rougemont area. We look forward to having you as our guests in worship and Sunday School. There is a class for everyone. It is through small-group Bible study, that we grow as a community and develop new friends that help us on our life journey.
If you are looking for a church home, it would be my privilege to be your pastor, and we would love to have you join our fellowship.
We pray that today you would experience God in a fresh, new way and that you would join us soon.
For God’s glory,
Pastor Dave Pryor
Ways to Serve
"and all the members of the body - though many - are one body" I Corinthians 12:12
Serving is always better than being served. Jesus tells us that He did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many people (Matthew 20:28). Our mission here on this Earth as believers in Christ is to love God with all our hearts, minds, and souls and to love others as Jesus loves them. This is best fulfilled through serving both God and others with all our gifts, time, and talents. Our service is given to bring God glory by disciplining others in Jesus Christ. Check out our ministry options below and get plugged in. Being part of the ministry here at Red Mountain Baptist Church is open to all members who complete a thorough background check. After taking a look at our list of different ministry opportunities and you're interested in serving please feel free to contact us.

Our Model
Red Mountain believes and teaches the Trinity; God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus was born of a virgin, died on a cross for our sins, arose the third day and is coming back to take His children (believers) home to Heaven.

Our Mission
Church Covenant
Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; to abstain from the sale of, and use of, intoxicating drinks as a beverage; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior.
We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech, to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Savior to secure it without delay.
Our Roots
Serving Christ and Our Community for 140 years.
1881 – Red Mountain Baptist Church was established. The church began in a brush arbor setting where a small frame church soon sprang up. This church burned down; and then a larger frame church was built. The material for this church came from an old school house in Bahama and was brought in on wagons.
Originally, church services were held on the first and third Sundays and baptisms were held at Bowling’s Mill on Flat River on designated Sundays, with church services to follow.
1882 - October - Red Mountain was accepted into the Mt. Zion Association.
1927 – Members elected to build a larger church. Materials were brought in by train to the Rougemont depot, and transferred by horse and wagon to the present location. In 1928 the outside was refinished with brick.
1963 – Red Mountain Church begins having services every Sunday morning and Sunday evening.
1979 - Educational Building was built and dedicated in 1979.
1984 - An addition to the church Sanctuary was built and dedicated in April 1985. A note burning was held in April 1989.
2002 - June - The church completed and dedicated a new 5348 square foot Education/Fellowship Building Addition.
2012 - A mission team (from Red Mountain) is sent to Moldova and continues to go every year (except 2020 during the Covid pandemic)
2019 - July – Construction begins for a new Fellowship Hall (aka Family Life Center). The existing Fellowship Hall was reconstructed for additional Sunday School rooms and offices.
2020 - August - The Family Life Center is completed. "Homecoming" on September 20th, 2020 was the first official church wide gathering in the new facility. The $1.2 million loan was paid off November, 2024.
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us," Ephesians 3:20
