Jeremiah 23:5-6

1. The Lord is totally righteous 

1 John 1:5-“This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.”

Deuteronomy 32:3-4-“For I proclaim the name of the Lord: ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He.” 

Genesis 18:25-“Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” 

2. The Lord wants to give you His righteousness 

Romans 3:10-“There is none righteous, no, not one.”

Romans 3:23-“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” 

Ezekiel 18:4-“The soul who sins shall die.” 

Romans 6:23-“The wages of sin is death” 

Isaiah 64:6-“But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags.”

2 Corinthians 5:21-“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

3. The Lord wants you to live in His righteousness

Verses 5-6

Romans 8:1-2-“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”

Matthew 6:33-“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Romans 8:13-“For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.”

Psalm 19:9-“The fear of the Lord is clean.”
