John 15:12-17

1. A love for others

Verses 12-13, 17

Philippians 2:3-“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.”

John 14:15–“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

1 John 4:11–“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”

2. A biblical attitude

Verses 14-15

James 2:23-“And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, ‘Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.’ And he was called the friend of God.”

James 2:26-“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

1 John 2:4-“He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”
