What does it mean to be a Christian?
Colossians 3:1-4
Acts 11:26-“ So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.”
1. Your salvation is secure
Verses 1 and 3
Romans 6:6-9–“knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.”
John 10:28-29-“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.”
2. Your focus is transformed
Verses 1-2
Romans 12:2-“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
3. Your future will be better
Verse 4
Titus 2:13–“looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”
1 John 3:2–“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
