Matthew 22:34-40
1. We are to love God above all
Verses 37-38
Mark 12:30–“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.”
1 John 5:3-“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments.”
2. We are to love all people selflessly
Verse 39
Ephesians 5:28-29-“So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.”
1 John 4:7-8-“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”
