Genesis 3:1-7

1. Be aware of the attack

Verse 1

2 Corinthians 11:3-“But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”

2. Be mindful of the attraction

Verses 2-5

Genesis 2:16-17-“And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

John 8:44When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

2 Timothy 2:15-“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Judges 21:25-“In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.”

3. Respond with the proper solution

Verses 6-7

Psalm 119:11-“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”

Romans 3:23-“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Jeremiah 17:9-“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked;who can know it?

Romans 3:10-12-“There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. 12 They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one.”

Isaiah 64:6-“ But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags.”

Isaiah 61:10-“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God;for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.”
