Being a Difference Maker
Colossians 1:21-29
1. Let Jesus make a difference in your life
Verses 21-22
Romans 5:20-“ But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.”
2. Continue to grow in your faith
Verses 23, 29
2 Peter 3:18-“grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
Hebrews 5:12-14-“For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.” (ESV)
3. Realize you will face difficulty for your faith
Verse 24
Matthew 5:10-12-“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
Mattthew 24:9-13-“ Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”
4. Share Jesus every chance you get
Verse 25, 28
