James 4:4-6
Verse 4
1 John 2:15-17-“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
Romans 12:2-“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Colossians 3:1-2-“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Verse 5
Galatians 5:16-17-“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.”
Romans 8:6-7-“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God.”

Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,

Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.”
Proverbs 16:5-“Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord.”
Proverbs 16:18-“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
Matthew 23:12-“And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
