Facing the Unknown
Hebrews 13:5-6
5 “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
6 So we may boldly say:
“The Lord is my helper;
I will not fear.
What can man do to me?””
1. Be content with what God provides
Verse 5
I Timothy 6:6–8-“Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content”
Ecclesiastes 5:10-“He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver”
Luke 12:15-“Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one‘s life does not consistin the abundance of the things he possesses.”
Psalm 37:4-“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”
Philippians 4:11-13-“Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content. I’ve learned in whatever state I’m in, to be content. I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
2. Find comfort in God’s presence
Verse 5
3. Find confidence in your identity in Christ
Verse 6
Psalm 121:2-“ My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”
