2 Timothy 1:3-7
1. People are changed by your faith
Verse 5
Acts 16:1-“Then he came to Derbe and Lystra. And behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a certain Jewish woman who believed, but his father was Greek.”
Acts 16:2-“He was well spoken of by the brethren who were at Lystra and Iconium.”
2 Timothy 3:13-15-“But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 12:6-“Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.”
1 Peter 4:10-“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
3. People are helped by your boldness
Verse 7
Ephesians 1:18-20-“the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 3:20-“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
Romans 5:5-“the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
1 Corinthians 9:26-27-“Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”
