The Savior Who Died and Rose Again
Matthew 27 and 28
1. The Savior sacrificed His life for you
Hebrews 10:1-3-“For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.”
Romans 3:24-25–“being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed.”
Hebrews 10:4–“For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.”
2. The Savior died in your place
Matthew 27 15-17
1 Thessalonians 5:9-10-“For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us.”
Galatians 3:13–“Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, ‘Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’).”
3. The Savior satisfied God’s justice for you
Romans 3:24-25-“being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed.”
Matthew 28:5-6
